Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, Jobs

What do politicians and other apologists for the weapons industry say when you criticise them? They say that they are bringing jobs to the area. That jobs are essential, that people need work, that this is good work, and that the opening of this factory will encourage other companies to open shop in this area.

Would they say that for a heroin processing factory I wonder?

It is a significant question. People need work. Here is a factory. Hurrah.

So what that it makes instruments of torture! So what that its products WILL KILL AND MAIM HUMAN BEINGS, not as a hypothetical possibility but really, actually and soon after having been made. So what that its products will impoverish vast tracts of the planet, destroy the economies of countries. At least some of our out of work fellow citizens got a few bob out of it. I bet they're greateful for it too and so they should be. Its great to have a job, any job.

So these mass murderers promised jobs. How many did they bring here? For just how many jobs did our Nobel Peace Laureates and business leaders and the University of Ulster sell out to Raytheon?

Twenty five.
